A striking restaurant and commercial building in Bhaisepati, Lalitpur — designed to be unmissable from the street. The building's bold geometric form, dramatic arched timber-lined entrance void, and full-height glazed frontage create a façade that functions as its own billboard — drawing diners in with architectural curiosity before they've even read the menu.
Signature entrance void
The defining feature is a large arched recess in the main volume — lined with layered horizontal timber battens and integrated white LED strip lighting that creates a warm, glowing frame around the double-height glazed interior. The angled gable roofline above reinforces the form's geometric drama.
Façade & materials
Dark grey metal cladding wraps the primary volume, contrasting sharply with warm oak timber battens and bright white render on the flanking wing. Full-height black-framed curtain glazing reveals the active interior workspace to the street, making the building transparent and engaging from outside.
Access & streetscape
An external staircase with steel balustrades leads to the elevated entrance, with a matching arched timber canopy marking the entry point. A landscaped ground level with tropical planting softens the structural base and creates a welcoming transition from the street to the building.
The Bhaisepati Restaurant building is a bold example of destination architecture — a commercial structure designed not just to house a business but to become a landmark in its neighbourhood. The combination of dark steel, warm timber, LED-lit geometry, and full transparency makes it one of the most visually distinctive restaurant buildings in Lalitpur.
